What is Indian Artists Network? |
| |
There are hundreds of highly creative but internationally unknown Indian artists who strongly feel that their art is far superior to most of mediocre art that is flaunted internationally as India’s Best art. What do you do about it? Are you waiting for life-time for some art mafia to come in your life and make your career? Let us not wait for the Godfather. Let us act on our own to project ourselves as Best of India by participating in international exhibitions and by fully exploiting the power of Internet. Indian Artists Network is a Not-for-profit organisation of artists from all over India. All artists are full time ,qualified and professional artists, many of whom are National award winners,State award winners,Gold medalists and reputed art teachers. This network of artists is run, administered and funded all by artists themselves. No one except the artists are involved in it’s functioning. The idea is to expose these award winning and talented artists who otherwise will never get a chance to exhibit abroad because of so many difficulties, not just financial ones. We have decided to arrange exhibitions of these talented artists in major capital cities of various countries all over the world. We need to forge alliances with art sponsors, art lovers, art buyers, art galleries, art organizations, corporate houses as well as government cultural bodies in each country around the globe so that we can go to their countries for our exhibitions. We are not connected to any individuals or organizations, either in India or abroad. We artists, are all on our own.

How does Indian Artists network function? |
| |
This network of artists is run, administered and funded all by artists themselves. No one except the artists are involved in it’s functioning. All decisions are made after discussions with various artists. As a policy,we take no donations from anyone for our activities directly. If anyone wants to help our cause, they are welcome anytime but they may directly pay to the service that we need for our exhibitions abroad. Since it's inception,we have not taken a any donation for any reason.Individual artist’s welfare will always remain at the center of any decision making process. All artists are same for us and no one will be discriminated for any reason. All are welcome to join but the right to remove anyone from our website remains with us for smooth functioning of the activity.

What about the funding and financial aspect of the organization? |
| |
We ask for contribution from each selected artist for all expenses of the exhibitions held abroad. Its our experience that approx.50% of total expenses are covered by the contributions of the artists.Rest is covered by following 1) Donations of paintings from artists who give their paintings instead of paying cash to us.Sales proceeds of those paintings partially cover the cost of exhibition abroad.2) In rare cases ,if at all.we get more than expected prices of the paintings The extra money that we get is utilised for the expenses of the exhibition.3) Part of expenses is also paid indirectly by the Indian cultural centre and Indian Embassy in Jakarta who help us a lot every year by printing invitation cards etc.4) Some sponsors in Indonesia too help us in our exhibition in Indonesia.
Every year we get hundreds of entries and all those artists are ready to pay the contributions but only high class works are selected. The only challnge in arranging these exhibition abroad is to display works that can make India proud. We invite various art gallery owners / diplomats of various countries / art lovers etc to our exhibition and we simply can not put substandard work to collect maximum contributions.Money making is important part of the art business but that is not the sole purpose and goal of the exhibitions abroad. There are other aspects too which are considered on priority basis so that exhibition is appreciated by most keen art lovers outside India |
